| Batesburg-Leesville Primary and the B-L and Twin City Rotary Clubs will present "Got Book?" on Tuesday, January 31 at 6 p.m. in the BLPS cafeteria. An art show will also be held from 5-7 p.m. and a spaghetti supper sponsored by the school's PTO will be held in the cafeteria beginning at 6:30 p.m. |
| Common Planning/Early Release Day will be held on Wednesday, February 1. There will be no Afterschool Program at Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School on this date. Welcome to My Classroom
Hi, I'm Cheryl Paulling. I have been teaching in the Four-Year Old Preschool Program at Batesburg-Leesville Primary School for the past 24 years! I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, but my love is teaching four-year olds. I have been at Batesburg-Leesville Primary School 25 of my 28 years as a teacher. It is a wonderful school and a great place to work!
Ms. Wofford has been my assistant for the past five years. She truly enjoys working with the students. Together we make a great team.
K4 Curriculum
The High/Scope Key Experiences are the framework for the K4 Program. They are a series of statements that describe the social, cognitive, and physical development of children. The child's day at school is set around a schedule that consists of the following segments: Circle Time, Small Group Time, Work Time, Rest Times, and Outside Times.

 Fire SafetyWe have been learning how the firefighter helps us and how to be safe in a fire. We learned to crawl down low in a smoky room, and not to open a door if it is hot, to "Stop, Drop, and Roll" if fire is on our clothes, and the importance of dialing 911.  ColorsAs we learned about colors, the boys and girls enjoyed wearing specific colors of clothing each day. We wrote about each color and practiced reading the words together. Please go to Colors on the Class Web Site below to view the pages in our story.
 Growing ButterfliesWe have been growing Gulf Fritillary and Black Swallowtail butterflies. Please go to the web page Growing Butterflies under Class Web Pages to learn more about our experience.  Apple FunThe children did a variety of activites using apples. They counted apples and found the most and least amounts. They sorted apples by their colors and tasted different types of apples.
